We offer two types of services in schedule risk analysis. These include:-

• Schedule Quality Assessment;

• Schedule Risk Analysis.

 

To assess the quality of a schedule our consultants use metric analysis visualisation tools. This will give an overall score on the quality of the schedule while also scoring the fundamentals of a schedule. By conducting this analysis our consultants will issue a report on areas of the schedule which may need further remedial action. This in turn will help improve the quality of the overall schedule.

 

Our consultants run Schedule Risk Analysis at our clients request, to understand the key risks associated with a project via the project schedule. To conduct this analysis we first agree the variables we will apply to the schedule with our client, then run the analysis and report the findings.

 

Schedule Risk Analysis is a set of algorithms (procedures) that rely on repeated random sampling to obtain numerical results. Essentially, we establish a project plan, insert the variables, and run the simulation, collecting data from each simulation.

 

In summary, to run a Schedule Risk Analysis Simulation we:-

• Develop the project plan on the basis of the most likely durations;

• Agree/ Input the minimum and maximum potential durations (& any other risk variables);

• Run the simulation & analyse the outputs.

 

Gathering all of this information into one place will help to answer some key questions about the uncertainty of a project, such as:-

• What is the chance of the project finishing on time?

• What chance does the project have of finishing by a specific date?

• What date can I be 80% confident of finishing by?

• What tasks are most likely to cause project delay?
